When you see this, post your favorite poem in your journal.

The Raven Is my all time favourite but it is longer than i want to post here so.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

This is something I wrote in response to a question in TQC and it amuses me, so I decided to copy here so that it wouldn't get lost in the bowels of TQC never to be seen again.

Jane ran, she knew that if she could just get to the device everything would be okay. Rounding the corner she saw it sitting there just a few feet away. She sprinted forward arms outstretched, reaching for the device, when she was suddenly tackled from behind. She fell, her fingers just inches from the device. The killer whispered in her ear, "Time to die, sweetie." Jane kicked and screamed, wildly flailing her arms, desperately trying to active the device. Lighting flashed and she saw the shadow of the killer with his knife raised ready to plunge it deep into her, ending her life. She kicked harder and felt herself move forward a few inches and with all her might slammed her hand down on the device, activating it. A loud cry of "That was easy!" issued from the device and in a flash of light she was surrounded by cops who arrested the killer. There was another flash of light and she was in a courtroom watching the killer getting convicted. After a third flash she found herself in an observation room watching as the killer was strapped to the electric chair. Jane turned to walk away, smiling and thinking to herself, "Thank God I bought that easy button."

A Ghost
A year ago, had you told me that I would be attending MLB post-season games this year, I probably would have slapped you thrice and had you committed to a mental health facility under the name Beth Ann Percowski. I mean who would have thunk that the Rays would be in the post season and that I would care. But here we are one game away from being American League Champions and going to the World Series.

The other night, after the 5 hour and 27 minutes long game 2 of the ALCS, I was driving home through downtown Tampa on the Crosstown Expressway and could see the empty surface streets and I kinda wish I had stopped and wandered through the empty street, cause how often does one get to see the city empty like that. Also while still in St. Pete I had to stop and get gas and I was going to just get enough to get home and then fill up the next day, but I was like "I haven't seen gas this cheap in a while, I'll go ahead and fill up." So, then of course I get home and the gas station I normally go has it for cheaper. Oh well, such is life. Oh, and most of you have already heard this complaint but what kind of 24 hour restaurant isn't serving breakfast at 3am?

On a quasi-related note, I find it kinda amusing, that a good portion of my family has said they don't want to go to a hockey game because they'll like it and end up spending all the non-baseball money on hockey. Every time someone says this though I remember some statistic I read some where that said that per capita hockey fans have a higher IQ than fans of other sports, and I'm just kinda like LOL.

I want to rename my journal but the only thing I have come up with to rename it so far that isn't taken is thegreatness and I'm not sure if I completely like that, so suggestion are welcome

Well that is really all I have to say for now. so TTFN

Sincerely,
Thomas Percowski

Oh, one more thing, there is a good chance my brother will be moving back to Florida soon, if things don't take off for him in LA.

Happy
So what is up?
Well I woke up yesterday with a sore throat and a runny nose, and was not happy. Friday night I bought the movie Charlie Bartlett and then watched it 4 times this weekend, it is a very good movie and I highly recommend it. Also on Friday I bought post-season tickets so when the Rays make it to the post season I will be there. then thinking that even though I don't like football it might be interesting to go to a game once I went to look up how much a Bucs game ticket cost only to find out that every seat in Raymond James Stadium is sold to season ticket holders, which I think is just incredibly stupid of the Bucs to do.

In other news I have a ticket to Disney that I have to use by September 16th and no one to go with me and no money to spend there. but I have to go so I don't waste the ticket.

Back in March was my one year anniversary in my job, about may they finally got around to applying my annual raise and told me it would be retro-ed back to March. Well they still haven't given me the retro amount and a few months ago I requested a payout of some of my vacation hours cause I have WAY more than I will ever use and haven't received that either. Well two weeks ago after our last pay day I sent an e-amil to the head of HR and Payroll asking if i would be getting either of these soon because I could use the money (I didn't tell them it was to buy post season tickets). I had heard through the grapevine that the CEO approved them and I was to get the money, so along come payday and the money was nowhere to be seen. I was not a happy camper that day and the head of HR and payroll was very lucky he wasn't here.

also 6 more days!!!

anyways, I'll try to update more often.

The Big Read thinks the average adult has only read six of the top 100 books they've printed below.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read/read part of but never finished.
3) Underline the books you LOVE or pretty much enjoyed.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force books upon them.

Last night I had a dream that I will now describe as best I can.

I'm in the middle of another dream that I don't remember and all of a sudden the ABC news logo pops up and then I hear this is an ABC news update, cut to anchor (I don't think it was any real news anchor)"We here at ABC are ready to announce that Hillary Clinton has won the New Hampshire primary." cut a listing of the candidates and their ranking and in the upper corner it show that Mccain has won the Republican primary. Then cut to a shot of Hillary walking to the stage to make her victory speech. Then i woke up.

I swear this was a real dream, and yes I had already seen on the news before going to bed that they had won but still it is very odd to have a news break in you dreams.

I finally found someone who is smarter than me... and this person is... ME!
My subconcius mind is even smarter than my concious mind.

Last night, i had a dream that i flew to some unspecified asian country that was 13 hours ahead of eastern standard time. So this morning i decided to look it up and see if I were to fly some where 13 hours ahead of EST where might I be and it's like Hong Kong and Beijing.

There For I am smarter than myself.

I am incredibly disappointed in myself. I tainted the Disneyland experiment because I didn't want to ride Space Mountain because I hate Space Mountain at Disney World. But this was wrong of me so i must go back to Disneyland and ride it to truly honor the experiment.

I am a little freaked out. Like a week and a half ago I watched The Mothman Prophecies, in which a character has a dream where she is referred to as #37 meaning she is to be the 37th casualty of a freak accident. Well this weekend I had a dream where I was referred to as #19. It was long enough in between that it doubt it was some subconscious remembrance of the movie.

nothing else interesting to say...

Oh wait yes, there is. Halloween is funny, because unlike the other holiday that are 95% abut capitalism, it doesn't even pretend not to be, the isn't some big family gathering or mega church service. it's just buy this candy and give it away, BUT only give it to people who have bought/bought stuff to make a costume. SPEND, SPEND, SPEND!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

It's Deathly Hallows-ween

Hallows-ween
According to our patron saint Linus VanPelt, the Great Pumpkin rises out of the most sincere pumpkin patch on Halloween and then flies through the air to deliver toys to all the good little children in the world.

To commemorate this glorious holiday occasion, the Great Pumpkin Icon MeMe of 2007 has been created.

1. Take your default icon and doodle a pumpkin on it.
2. Copy and Paste this description in your livejournal so others can do it
3. Wait in your pumpkin patch for the Great Pumpkin on Oct 31. :D
